The TATC which is also known as Shirika la Nyumbu is a result of a noble idea conceived during the 1970s, by the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania, the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere
The Idea was to create a Centre of Excellency in Tanzania to advance technology innovations, with the ultimate aim of attaining self-reliance in technology for strategic socio-economic development
